My interpretation, perhaps begin different than the artist, visually allowed me for the first time to imagine Jesus at His baptism as a “child” of God. Joyfully walking into His destiny with the faith of a little child, He once again demonstrated not just by word but by His actions that we are to boldly and fearlessly move forward into the destiny God has chosen for us. We are not to shrink in fear from the inevitable difficulties that will await us in the unknown corners of the future. Jesus knew His destiny and it was the “Son of Man” who knew as we can know, that “Even if I can’t there lives within me one who can”. When I first saw this entry I smiled. I continue to smile. Congratulations.

Baptisms always make me cry-and this is no exception. Even though he's just a child, you somehow captured a look in his eye that seems as though he really 'gets it'. Childlike faith... Beautiful!

Like Sherri Ohler says, it's nice that this kid "gets it." Now me, I wasn't told ahead of time that anyone ws going to baptize me one day. I was raised Episcopalian, but was saved by a Baptist missionary at age 4 and I guess soon after my folks had me baptized without warning me, so I freaked out because I assumed that I'd already been baqptized as a baby, so I could only suspect that this now was an EXORCISM!! I was like, "I have a DEMON?!! NO ONE EVER TOLD ME!! HELP!!" Wild story, I know, but true. So yeah, it's nice that this kid "GETS IT"!!

This painting is a smile. So sweet and provoking to trust.
And to think the secular world says we Christians have our heads up our butts!
